Hello, we are (left to right) Reagen D., Marianne L. S., and Nadine S. Together with a few other individuals with vision and purpose seeking to build a unique school institute to help develop students potential to become well rounded and marketable. We hope to share this with you !
How it all started…
Known to be a historical place due to its first Christian church built by Americans, French, and Irish missionaries, Boffa (Guinea) was known for its trading port (for slaves and commerce) and became a pilgrimage site, still visited today.
A grandparent's’ legacy of guiding the youth from the province of Boffa toward gaining access to education and learning to stand on their own feet lead to this project. Bridging the educational gap by building a vocational institution and implementing international exchange programs.
This project is backed up by previous experience, in 1993 a non-profit organization "Tina Yaradokhe Saar e.V.," was created, which soon opened a library “Standine” and finally build a Kindergarden and Primary School in Guinea (Conakry). Collaborators included the French Catholic Mission in Saarland (Germany), Social Ministries of IHM in Cincinnati, OH (USA) and more.
Today a total of 9 classrooms and a long waiting list of potential students exist. The graduating classes highly seek continuing education. For families able to afford it, kids leave them to pursue their education 31 miles away, in the capital of Conakry. For the others, they do not pursue secondary education.
Aware of this educational market niche, the Mariama Bara School (MBS) Project comes in play to help build a vocational facility for the community in Boffa, Guinea and develop exchange programs with potential Sister Cities.
We seek mentors, partners, and sponsors to collaborate with us.
